The Awendaw Passage 14K Trail Run is a 8.5 mile out-and-back race trail run on the famous Palmetto Trail. Starting in the Francis Marion National Forest at Buck Hall Recreation Area, following the Intracoastal Waterway, this trail is a flat and fast, yet challenging mix of single-
and double-track coastal trail. Plenty of roots, dirt, sand, gently undulating technical terrain, boardwalks, and sharp turns combine with breathtaking and sweeping saltmarsh vistas as well as dense, thick forest canopy. Coastal wildlife abounds. This tough, scenic trail is an absolute gem, and features the sweetest trail running and hiking the Lowcountry has to offer.
