The Wambaw Swamp Stomp is a 50 mile trail race along the Swamp Fox Passage leg of the Palmetto Trail. This event uses an "out and back" format, 25 miles out and 25 miles back to the Start/Finish line. The event will also have a 12 hour cut off for solo 50 mile participants.

The "out and back" format for the course is to ensure the safety of the participants and to provide medical coverage. There will be 7 aid stations along the route. 1 at the START/FINISH line, 5 on the course, and one at the 25 mile mark. Each aid station is roughly 5 miles apart and is well stocked. Each station will be manned with volunteers and will have a portable toilet for participant/spectator use.
The aid stations are also the switch point for the relay participants.
Participant bib numbers, please wear the number on the front of your shirt!
2/4/6/10 person relay:
Your relay buddy(s) will head to the relay exchange points in a personal vehicle. Once there...they will wait for you to arrive. It is HIGHLY encouraged that relay participants cheer on those runners competing in the solo 50 miler category.
Please remember: Relay participants are responsible for getting to the exchange points via their own vehicle.
The trail is a portion of the Swamp Fox Passage a leg of the Palmetto Trail. It is very well maintained and is mostly a (wide) single track trail.

Additionally, there will be a post event meeting to discuss the trail, answer questions and meet each of you participating.
This event will happen rain or shine.
