Our winter training programs will be kicking off pretty soon and no one is more excited about getting started than the coaches! We have a great group of coaches and mentors that are experienced, passionate and most of all FUN! We thought we'd introduce you to a couple in the coming weeks. First up is Sandy Driggers! Participants in this winters half marathon program in Summerville have the pleasure of being coached by Sandy. She has coached at our Summerville store since the store opened up in July 2015, and is very excited about the training program coming up! Sandy is motivating, and is ready to help you get to the finish line! read below to learn a little more about Sandy!
When did you start running? I started running in 1993
What inspired you to begin running? A friend. She encouraged me to go with her so we could chat more. I also had just become a vegetarian and knew I needed to continue with some kind of exercise post high school. ( and I am one of those people who likes to sweat).
What is your favorite type of workout? Tempo runs, speed workouts, and yoga.
What is your most embarrassing running moment? When I have fallen and gotten road rash. Embarrassing and it hurts. Ouch!!!
What are you most excited for this training program? I am excited for this training program because I love to encourage people and motivate them to do more that what they think they are capable of. Some folks totally under estimate themselves. I soooo enjoy watching other people succeed. It makes my heart happy.
The Summerville Half Marathon Program begins Wednesday, November 9th. We will be training for the Charleston Half Marathon, a local favorite! You can join us for an information meeting at the store Wednesday, November 2nd at 6:00pm.
